Hunter Homes has spent the last two decades helping families turn their dreams into homes—earning a reputation for quality, care, and community connection across the Hunter region. But as they expanded into new markets and evolved their customer offering, it was time for their brand to step up and reflect that growth.

Their mission was clear: modernise the brand, retain their warmth and local credibility, and build a platform that could carry them confidently into the future. With a fresh visual identity, a refined tone of voice, and a new tagline—‘Building Legacy’—Hunter Homes now has a brand that matches the quality of their homes and the ambition of their team.

The Challenge

After over a decade in the market, Hunter Homes had built a solid reputation—but their brand identity no longer reflected their ambition or the quality of the homes they were delivering. Their existing positioning “Live with Heart” felt soft and dated in a category increasingly led by sharp design, clear value, and bold brand presence. The challenge was to modernise the Hunter Homes identity without losing the family-first spirit that customers connected with—and to create a brand flexible enough to work across everything from display signage to digital platforms.

Our Approach

Engineroom worked closely with the Hunter Homes team to clarify their strategic positioning and lay the foundations for a brand that was both future-focused and distinctly local. We developed the new brand tagline ‘Building Legacy’. This became the anchor for the refresh, conveying a long-term vision and the generational impact of building a home that lasts.

From there, we revitalised the brand’s look and feel:

– We refined the existing logo for better balance and clarity

– Updated the typography, leading with a strong condensed heading typeface that adds structure and confidence
– Energised the colour palette with a bold take on Hunter Yellow, creating a vibrant and instantly recognisable brand presence

But the most distinctive element? Drawing inspiration from Hunter Homes’ unique architectural details—the striking window shapes found in their home designs. These became a signature graphic element, used as dynamic image-holding shapes across the collateral, reinforcing the connection between design, home, and everyday moments.

The Results

Hunter Homes now has a confident, scalable brand identity that reflects the quality of its product and the values of its people. The new look has been rolled out across display homes, signage, brochures, website, and digital assets, helping Hunter Homes stand tall in a competitive market, while staying deeply connected to its local roots. Now, they’re not just building houses—they’re building legacy.
